Made in the traditional style of Kentucky Ryes, Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey delivers bold flavors of pepper and tobacco with a long fruit and sweetly spiced finish. Light golden honey in appearance. Aromas are soft and nutty with a malty shortbread grain note sweetened with apple fruit, hints of spun sugar, cooked sugar, and vanilla. Glimpses of cedar and clove spiciness can be seen through a delicate veil of oak smoke. Shortbread and subtly cool lemon custard notes are lightly spiced and dried with a dash of white pepper.
Finish is long and slightly drying with a lingering shortbread note.
Woodford Reserve Wheat is based on historical recipes but influenced by the iconic core Woodford Reserve Bourbon brand. With wheat as the dominant grain - at 52 percent, followed by malt (20%), corn (20%) and rye (8%). Aromatic spiced (cinnamon and cedar) and cooked fruit (apple, pear, banana) mingle with a delicate floral character sweetened with light vanilla bean and brown sugar notes. Spicy applesauce and toasted coconut notes enliven an earthy mint and cocoa nib mix. Dry, subtle cocoa nibs and lingering apple peel.
